Go for haswell, ivy bridge is dead. Cpu about same price, if your mobo fails in future, you will have no ivy bridge board to choose from.

Change ur psu to seasonic m12ii 550w or superflower hx500w. Much better than the crappy Cooler master cx series.

Change ur HDD to WD blue 1tb or 500gb.

That case isnt good since it uses an external USB3.0 connector, to be connected to ur mobo i/o ports at the back instead of the internal header. Can try getting the nzxt h230 at $109.

Getting AMD is as good as having no upgrade (in CPU performance) even if the socket is platform-updatable...

Lol... Ivy Bridge is just one socket away.. The 1155 are still being mass produced. 3 years mobo fail. Time to upgrade. Even if get Haswell. 3 years later mobo fail also upgrade already.

I read already. The newer 9 intel series boards are able to support haswell and haswell refresh.
Rumours are, the the current 8 series board might unofficially support broadwell.

Anyway 1155 sockets are eol. So no point supporting.
Even rma, wanna change to different mobo also tough. Even if get better mobo cannot get better chip.

So even if he gets a haswell cpu next time can still purchase 9 series mobo and still reuse haswell.

Also to add, is only worth getting an ivy bridge if they have a clearance sale. Otherwise, is kinda painful to buy something at full price when the product has already reach its eol.

So far from what i've read Intel 9 series chipset based LGA 1150 socket and Haswell Refresh and CPUs so forth is electrically different from Intel 8 series chipset and Haswell CPUs. Thus, effectively cutting compatibility between future LGA 1150 platform products from Haswell platform products now.

While Broadwell will be socket-compatible with Haswell, running on the same Intel Socket 1150 platform, the processors are claimed to require brand-new 9-Series chipsets, of which Z97 and H97 will be available at launch. While Intel won't be validating Broadwell with existing 8-Series motherboards, it remains to be seen if any of the company's hardware partners offer BIOS upgrades to add limited compatibility.

The above again reiterate the incompatibilities between Haswell and upcoming platform. Being fundamentally socket electrically different, i wonder how are motherboard manufacturers going to validate the Haswell CPUs for these Intel 9 series motherboards...
