Is it using the stock cooler?

If yes, then we all know it has thermal throttling problem.

ok guys the temperature is a problem i can reach 85 just on dota 2 when i spam units on the whole screen.

Max setting on 1440p and it is a little loud but its performance is so far so good, worth the money imo.

Going to test on Watch Dogs soon.

Its coz the ref cooler isnt good enough to cool down the core. Hence, on Dota2, alrdy at 85 degrees le, Watchdogs should be 95 degrees. Try set the fan curve to be slightly more aggressive.

ok yes i have realized that it is cheap due to its heating problem. But apparently Radeon has stated that the card is designed for 95C and its performance is really good.

I can go up to 87C on warframe MAX settings 1440p getting 60+ fps stable.
I also found out that the fan is noisy. Its max is set at 45% , i put it to 55% and i can hear it.

Designed to work up to 95 degrees, yes. But if u can manage to cool it, you can push it even further till it reaches 95 degrees. May u can gain more fps for high end games and even more for mid lvl games.

But now, u r stucked with that lvl of performance since it cant be cooled easily.l and cant b pushed further.

What I suggest is that if you want the 290 just go get the non ref design.

Although the price at $428 for Asus ref design, the ref card at 40% is just too noisy.

A cooler card will perform slightly better and yet cool the card to a low 84deg instead.
