depends on which app you are using.

if you cannot find it in your storage then its in your app lor.

for instance email attachments can only open in mail app while airdropped items can be found in your video/photos app..

there is no such thing as a file explorer like android, but you can make it happen if you tweak a bit..

I guess he probably want to know how to "copy" / " backup" videos he downloaded. Doubt can be discussed here but for normal iOS, such features are blocked, unless device is tweak like the other pal said..

use itunes and go to the app while still in itunes
normally the files are saved in these apps.

Files i think you can link using itune and then copy in out. But if talking movies or songs that purchase, I am not sure if it will pop up. But I guess if "Purchased", I think it may appear. However if it was those that are "rented" or "premium account that allow download to listen or watch offline with internet", I doubt it allows to copy out..
