Hello.. I've scored 12 points for my N levels. Should I take my chances in Sec 5 or graduate and proceed to an ITE higher nitec course? The thing is, my family members have been convincing me to go for sec 5 but I'm not confident at all :/

With dpp, you have a secured palace in poly and you learn along the way in ite, so you can do better in poly than fresh O level grads.
Being an ITE student, I'll say go to ite. Don't let the social stigma of ite being for hopeless people etc, because they never experienced it.
You learn and experience many things and meet all sorts of people
Which coirse are you aiming for btw?
I'm interested in banking services and accountancy. Thanks for replying and answering to my doubts !
that's why I suggested DPP, if TS can't handle O levels doesn't mean he will die in poly.Just go to O-levels..... with a O-level certificate you'll give yourself more options for instance courses. If you can't even complete O-levels what makes you think you'll be able to survive poly

If you are good in academic, go for Sec 5 GCE O because sometime small thing like GCE O can prevent you to start your career & etc.
No matter how Singapore Government package 'ITE Direct Entry Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)', it is just a Higher Nitec Programme without any guarantee to Polytechnic when you have a poor GPA. Higher Nitec is good to use it to find job when your GPA is too poor to enter full time Polytechnic.
Why no one mention about 'The Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)'? 1 Year Foundation Programme in Polytechnic before they progress to 1st Year relevant Diploma Programme.
O level must really think about it. I'm from sec 5. Most of my friends just nice pass N level. Then they think they can survive O level. When o level result come 3/4 of them did very badly( most of them get D7/C6 for English). If you feel that you heng that you pass N Level, you might wanna consider ITE. ITE not that bad actually. I've got some classmates from ITE and are studying in poly rigjt now. It's just a longer route.
