For those who doubt Dr Chee or call him name, ask yourself are you being fair to the man. Like the bible said, let those with no sin cast the first stone.Honestly , ask yourself these few questions.
Singapore Democratic Party chief Chee Soon Juan has put his neck in the noose campaigning for Sporean right to speak.
Dr Chee, a vocal human rights advocate campaigning for jobless benefits and a minimum wage. Again have you ever done for the plight of jobless Sporean?
Dr Chee trailing the campaigning Goh with a loudhailer and question the dubious S$17 billion ($9.3 billion) in taxpayer money loan to former Indonesian President Suharto. He is safeguarding Spore hard earned reserve.
Because of what Dr Chee has done for Sporean and Spore, he faced the defamation suits by both Goh and Lee. The use of the law to sue and bankrupt opposition politicians seems to be quite rampant. With the PAP suing SDP’s Dr Chee SJ whilst calling him a congenital liar (Did God make a mistake somewhere?). A very discouraging warning to the media and young politicians (opposition) and a hindrance to free speech.
If Dr. Chee or anyone wants to talk, let him talk and let Singaporeans judge for themselves of what calibre he is made of.
We can tell PAP's true colours by the way they treats his weaker enemies (First is Dr Chee and now it is you ordinary folk who have been sold out by PAP on the FT issue). If PAP employs its whole arsenal against an opponent half his size and whacks the latter so hard that the rival could never get back on his feet again, we can tell how blackhearted PAP is. That is the story of politics in Singapore.
To those bunch of ignorant Singaporean, whenever anyone, Chee Soon Juan for example, tries to tell these Singaporeans the truth, it is immediately rejected, not because these Singaporeans do not believe it, but because they chose not to. These ignorant Singaporeans may have attended the many political meetings in NUS, where opposition members like J B Jeyaratnam and Dr Chee constantly urge them to take the lead to change the climate in Singapore. Although they realized what is going on, the vast majority would not bother entertaining such thoughts. They have learned from their own cognitive dissonance that such thoughts would only cause them perpetual discomfort. Thus, if they continue to feed on such thoughts, they may eventually have to act on it. Examples were made out of Chee Soon Juan and Tang Liang Hong to illustrate to these people that acting on such thoughts are likely to result in huge losses for themselves and their families. These ignorant Sporean obviously do not want to remember anything else other than the apparent prosperity that they see around themselves.
This is sad for Singapore. If you are fighting for the supposedly "Singaporeans",They only care for their own selfish needs; material needs;there is nothing absolutely wrong with that. The problem is that they STOP at fulfilling and caring their own selfish needs! They had forgotten about social needs, they had forgotten about humanity needs... And when Singapore
as a nation could no longer provide them with their selfish material needs,they just pack up and go..
Look at Dr Chee. A PhD is neuropsychology, former NUS lecturer, married to a beautiful wife and three lovely kids. He could have done so much better for himself and his family by packing up and migrate to the USA. But he is staying on to fight. He is a believer of a fairer society for Singaporeans.
With a passion like that, this man truly loves this country. That is more than I can say for the highest paid ministers in the world put together.
