I haven't try before but will be renting from Nippon Car Rental. If u using expressway pass, get from Mishima station, else Atami Station. These 2 seems to be nearest to Hakone?

Not too late but need to convince my travelling partner. will it save cost?

The reason why we put it at 2nd day is because we are worried about feeling tired from the flight.

shin-chitose to noboribetsu is abt the same duration as shin-chitose to sapporo. u can actually station yourself at noboribetsu for 2-3 days and doing toya as a day trip........

Where do you find out toll charges? 2 years ago when I did my Hokkaido trip I remember google maps gave the toll charge info (which I used to calculate toll vs expressway pass) but lately I see they don’t give the info liao.

Any advise on which car rental company to use in Hokkaido? Any idea whats the rental charges like? Looking for a car to fit 4 pax - 2A2C.

I had a good experience with world net. Can compare them with jalan.net.
