for some pumps, you can use your singapore CC at the pump terminal itself, they don't ask for zip code

yups can pay via cc at the counter and go pump. for mine i rented full tank and jus return full. quite a few gas stations near the airport.

but one thing i feel quite awkward is they deducted an amt for deposit, after u return the car then they refund u the balance. so u got to go back singapore and wait for the bill then u can know how much they deduct..

if got any mistakes or error, abit troublesome to find them back for the balances.

Hi.. M going to travel to the states for bout a month. Was thinking of renting a car to make my traveling easier. How do you all go about renting a car over at the states arh? I was thinking of driving down from LV to LA.. Is it possible for me to return the car at the airport or do I have to drive back to LV to return my rented car? Do they have any pickup service for these kind of tourist services?

Thanks arh! M a total noob at this

hertz does drop rental i.e. u can return it in another place. You must read carefully though, many companies may have free drop charge if within the same state. but LV is Nevada and LA is California. So must make sure your plan is free.
There's usually promotions that allow free for that whole region so just read before u book.

Google for hertz/avis discount code. I did and i saved like 30% or something with unlimited miles, free insurance, free drop ship etc etc. good stuff.. some careful searching should help a lot.

also i suggest you have a backup booking with another company in case one disappoints. There's no prior charges anyway so nothing to be afraid of.

If no rush and long trip,i would recmd Alamo/national, 15 min free shuttle to depot. Operators with within airport depots, premium abt us$100..Dropoff at LV, usually comes at a price, hardly free. likewise look for coupon and id codes. Certain combi codes will get u great discounts. Rented a Chrysler mpv for 3 Weeks, $480.

I recommend LV to LA. Especially passing through Death Valley.

Wanted to go last time but time did not permit. Remember to survive and share with us pics of Death Valley.

A side trip but you can just visit from Dante's Point instead of going right into the valley itself if you are scared or it takes too long to go into the valley.

Dante's Point should give you the whole view of the valley. From there you can understand why the damn place is so dry. Apparently all the sun's rays go in and the heat just gets getting higher and higher like a solar oven.

Winter is a good time to visit. Not so hot.....well that depends on how you think hot is.

a big detour, but a great xp knowing what 45C feels like. More interesting is how temperature rises from 15 to 42 celsius driving into the valley within 30 mins, and going back to 15c driving out/up. There is even a oasis golf course in there.Wonder wtf. You will appreciate how cool Singapore is.

Anyone use Turo

Flying into the airport easier to pickup and drop off at a rental place. Esp it’s odd hours.
Has car issue can get a replacement. Rental car joint has loads of cars to choose.

If u flying into major airport you could go with Turo. I have not used them before
