Just recently sent my 2 jackets to 2 different places to dry clean.

1)Laundry Club @ ion
Price - 8.50 (not including GST)
Duration : 5 days
The person was telling me that if damage, not covered. Made me a little nervous. When taken back, no damage seen. But for some reason, it seems a little *furry*. New jacket, btw. Lunch time was from 1-1.30.

2)Aunty's laundry @ international building
Price - 12
Duration : 3 days
The aunty seems quite experienced. came back the item looks good. no issue. I am thinking of putting my black formal jacket to dry clean with them.

Anyone else got experience do put down so newbies like me got for reference.

I have tried several dry cleaners. One thing to be cautious is to select a reputable supplier.

I recently engaged ACES Dry Cleaning and will never go back to them again. When the dry cleaning was returned, I suspected there was a misquoting of the weight of the material dry cleaned. When I weighed it, I found that they had grossly over-quoted the weight and charged me for this. When I brought this up to the company, the owner slammed down the phone and refused to speak to me.

Further, if I had rejected the job at collection (e.g. when there is a dispute on the actual weight) they have a cancellation charge of $80. And they insisted to collect full payment before the job is done. The customer therefore is left at the mercy of the supplier.

I do not know how many customers have been over-charged by this supplier.

I will be escalating this to the authorities.

My 2 cents worth of recommendations for laundry service :-
- It must be convenient - Free collection and delivery
- Customer service must be helpful as sometimes we might not know the clothes require dry clean or normal wash
- Cheap pricing listed may not be realistic is a kinda business strategy to con us. I will select the in between the high and low range as I do not want to be overcharged and cheap may cut corners, damage your clothes and short change of the service.

Honestbee Dry Cleaning

Managed to get my dry cleaning done with honestbee recently. It was very convenient as I am usually lazy to lug my winter jackets/jackets to the dry cleaners, and then go back and lug it home subsequently.

they pick up from your house and delivery is free for costs over $20.

the turn around time is about 5 days, and the quality of dry cleaning for me was great. the fact that they come and pick it up from me and then return to me at home is really awesome.

I think they are still starting out, so operations wise there could be some improvements as I faced some issues communicating about the actual delivery time. Other than that, it's great. try it out.

Laundry like ABC

I just tried Honestbee Laundry the other day. Using their promo code BTO15, I managed to get $15 off $30, easily covers the cost of my Queen-sized bedding set of 1 bedsheet, 1 mattress protector, 1 quilt cover and 3 pillow/bolster case and still have some left over for me to iron 2 of my shirts.

Did some research and found that they are also the cheapest for their jacket and dresses in town, think it's a good deal #dontsaybojio.

But on the flipside, I'm getting a bit tired of doing the regular day-to-day laundry. Anyone with something good to recommend for that? $5.40/kg at honestbee seems a tad pricey.
