If you wanted to sell next time, Canon and Nikon will be much easier to get rid of because most of the Pros are using this 2 brands.

No comments on Panasonic.

But you might want to consider Mirrorless Camera from Sony. They are doing pretty well as it's much compact and lighter than DSLR.

Do consider what lens you're getting, it will sure have some impact on your budget. This is just a beginning, there's tons of thing you need after you get a camera.
There's plenty of choice nowadays... all depends on what your needs and your budget.

for video only, I would recommend Panasonic GH4.

for all-in-one, multi purpose, I would recommend Canon 80D.
For landscape, I would recommend the Canon 10-18mm lens.
For portraits, I would recommend the Canon 85mm lens.

bear in mind, weather sealed doesn't mean waterproof. Its for use in harsh use in harsh outdoors environment, snow, rain, beach (sand and water), etc etc.

Not in any order of preference, I would recommend:

1) SLR Revolution
2) MS Color
3) TK foto
4) Cathay Photo
5) Orient photo

:D

Have fun!

nope, it is not mine.
yup, you can go to showroom like Vivocity Best Denki to play with it and see if you like the handling and controls.

it should last more than 3 years (if you handle it with care) like my friend's 60d lasted for more than 5 years.

yup. the stores sell bags too. 1, 3, 4 sell a larger variety of bags. :D

Should i just get this kit?
EOS 80D Kit (EF-S18-55 IS STM)

Any comments btw Panasonic G85 vs 80D?

SLR revolution have 2 outlets. Which one will you recommend? :)

80D iso can set to 25600? As it says expandable to 25600, i don't know what it means by expandable.

There is a sticky I wrote on this topic actually...

Anyway, the weather seal as is as strong as the weakest link between all the parts.

I would recommend the EOS 80D kit (EF-S18-135 IS USM). It would be a good general purpose lens and the focal range for your portraits (without the blur background).

If you have additional budget for your landscape needs, I would recommend Canon EF-S 10-18mm.

for SLR revolution, I usually go to the excelsior shopping center and look for this lady call dan dan.

expandable meaning maximum. I do not have the 80D but from experience from 70D, I believe ISO 12800 is "usable" for 80D

Hey guys and ah keong Thx for the info!!!

Ah keong.. I dont know how to tune the lens manually for zooming and other stuff..i understand that I need to play it and learn.. Does The dslr do it automatically?

What do you mean by portrait shots without blur background? Any example? :)

for a zoom lens, you would manually rotate the zoom ring to choose a number(focal length).

the number chosen will then result in the image that you want from your position.

for a lens that have automatic focus (AF) and the function enabled, the focus would be done automatically by the system.

I am not an expert on portrait shots. Below are some portraits. Can you tell me which one you prefer? (tips: pay attention to the background)

Oh I see..

Example 1 = I choose left
Example 2 = I choose right
Example 3 = Is about what ah? If it's about background then i will pick number 1

Can EF-S18-135 IS USM (AF) & (MF)?

So the F5.6 means aperture? How do i set aperture? Can it be done auto or manually?

base on your choices, the EF-S18-135 IS USM is suitable for your needs.
Example 3 is about what effect you like. If you like to include a busy background in your works. The EF-S18-135 IS USM fit your needs.

Yes. It can AF and MF based on the switch position.

the aperture can be done auto or manually. if manually, you can set aperture. if auto, the camera set the aperture. How to change the settings, you have to read the manual.

do read up and see which controls and handling you like and prefer. Or get 2nd hand as many bought it and then use few times.

Since you mention DSLR, do watch both videos after testing out the cameras model you like at showrooms.
