Dubai and side trips

Anyone's been to Dubai?

Am going for a work trip, planning to touch down Saturday morning. Have the weekend days free till Monday evening.

Should I explore Dubai itself or take a side trip out to Abu Dhabi or Oman or Jordan?

Any recommended must buy and must see places?

Might extend the weekend after if there's more things to see. Researched some eating places online, place of interests varies. Hope to get a fellow traveler's pov

All you have is 2 full days. Oman and Jordan are out - see a map.

Dude, 1 weekend is barely enough for Dubai alone.

Abu Dhabi is an hour or so from Dubai, and has fewer attractions, but the dune bashing there is better as its deserts are cleaner.

If you are extending your trip, you can fly AirDubai or other budget airlines to Jordan. But you will need at least 4 days (likely more) in Jordan, because the major attractions like Petra and Dead Sea are far from Amman. You could do Dead Sea as a day trip, but Petra will require 2-3 days to see it properly.

Once in Amman, Jordan, you are just a short drive away from Israel. You might want to consider that too.
