Simple Google explain

When comparing Chinese dumplings vs wontons, some key differences are: Wrappers: Wonton wrappers are thinner, are usually square, and may contain egg. Dumpling wrappers are thicker, are usually round, and don't require egg. Filling: Dumplings can be filled or unfilled.

If you are referring to both cantonese style,
Dumpling more prawns than pork with water chestnuts and sometimes carrot

Wanton is mostly minced pork

Nothern China dumpling is mostly minced pork and various veggies.

Wonton skin is thinner and the texture is 滑滑 one. If you eat tiong ones before, the filling is mostly meat, super minced and Q.
