dvi-i to vga not working?

Hi i recently bought a dvi-i to vga adapter to connect my geforce gts250 to my monitor, but somehow the monitor cant get a signal. Did some research myself but still cant find the problem. Monitor is quite old one VA902 viewsonic. Help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

could be the port of yr monitor spoil?


my old monitor only vga connect work, dvi n hdmi both spoil.

i did more research and maybe my monitor's max resolution isnt compatible with the min. resolution graphics card im using. So maybe thats the problem i guess.
