DVI-to-HDMI adapter problems

I was setting up few minipc with DVI output.

I was running low on DVI-to-HDMI adapter to connect to Sony Bravia TV (PIP features on PC input with TV HDMI input). Purchase some new adapters from taobao.
My original adapter batch was ok, new purchase from Taobao all failed.

Anyone know what's wrong? is it HDMI standard issue or some specs i missed out?

Beside ensure is from DVI to HDMI.
Not the other way.

As I had a hard time to source the correct spec.

I managed to obtain good ones from ebay. U may like to look for it.
