Earbuds for long usage

Hello, does anyone know of a brand or a specific earbud to recommend for long term usage (~8hrs per day)? I am very new to mobile accessories so would greatly appreciate your help

Reason is because I am a student and all my lectures are online, which means I stay in the library to watch video lectures. I have the OEM that comes with my phone but it hurts because it is not the rubber silicon type but the metal type.

Budget is up to $30...the audio quality don't have to be superb..Main concern is it won't hurt my ear after using it for a very long time and able to hear lecture voice

Not sure if it's healthy to have your ears closed up for long periods.

Anyway, maybe you can consider bone conducting type headphones like this one:

Benefit is your ears can be open while you listen - can hear environment.

If in noisy environment buy some cheap earplugs as it might drown out the sound.

The correct brand to buy is Aftershokz. They are the original innovator of the technology I think - or at least they have made it mainstream.

The local distro is ifactory asia:

I have the grey version which I paid 165 SGD for from Qoo10.

The good thing is ifactory RMA is excellent. My earphones failed twice (1st time electronics failure and second time physically damaged), and both times I got fresh replacements on the 2 year warranty.

My replacement unit is still going strong, now I have been using them for more than 3 years from original purchase date, and battery life etc. remain good.

The Aftershokz US website sells the wired models, the cheapest being 49USD:

But this cannot RMA locally.

Aliexpress have some units that claim to be bone conducting. E.g:

I have purchased something like the above and learned the hard way it is fake. I now understand that true bone conducting earphones would need to press slightly against the skull for effective audio transmission through vibrations. So the elastic band is necessary.

The pressing can be uncomfortable at first, but in my case I have got used to it. Now I don't feel it is there anymore.

You can take the risk with Aliexpress if you like. But if you want to really try this tech consider the pink model for 128 SGD on Qoo10.

Just get a pair of metal cans which fit snugly into your ear canals.

Some good ones cost only S$10 on Aliexpress.. (Do not get those $3 ones).

The trick is to fit the correct size sleeves for your ears and wear it correctly air-tight.

Great for high-res MP3s too. .
