If you want an early critical illness plan, I would suggest u get the TM legacy life with early CI. The premiums for 50k coverage; payable for 15yrs is abt $80/mth if ANB is 25yr old.

For a standalone plan (term) ANB 25yr old, it cost about $56/mth, covered and payable till age 75. Long run, TM plan still worth it

You should do a calculation to see which suits u better

All those holding Early Critical Illness policy or coverage, pls take note!

Just go back to your agent and ask them these few question.

1) if being diagnose with Carcinoma in-situ of pancreas ( Steve Jobs got it ), can claim?

2) you buy early CI plan, why no full payout of coverage for early CI diagnosis?

3) how much is the death benefit?

You will be amaze by what you are actually covered?

As For MANUCOMPLETECARE, answer to the above,

1) Yes, can claim.
2) Yes, full payout even at early stage.
3) Yes, full payout of the sum assured. Not $3k, not $15k. It's 100% payout.

Anymore questions?

Buy term with critical illness coverage. S$250+per year can get 100k. As you has other coverage, more than enough.

You see cancer is so common nowadays, the foods we eat. The stress and environment we getting.

Frankly most cancer diagnosed 75% already in 3rd or 4th stage liao.

So cheap? Which company can share?

It all boils down to whether there is a lump sum payout and whether what definitions the policy follows to actualize the claim. An agent who goes through the policy summary thoroughly or have sufficient experience will be vital for such policies.

Please read fine print on TM's plan. They only payout early stage if it occurs on organs site that all written in contract. Who can decide where to grow cancer??? And the Death payout amount is not equivalent to the sum assured.

Probably you might want to justify your statement and use your definition from Manulife against TM's? If you can prove that Manulife's definition is better, I believe it would have benefit everyone here.

"Manulife's definition of covered Comprehensive CIs are not the same as the Life Insurance Association's common definitions as most of the definitions of the covered Comprehensive CIs also covered illnesses diagnosed at an early stage". Extracted from Manulife Product summary

I dun think its right to bash up other companies' plan just to sell your company's plan. It's not the right way to do things. We do carry manulife products as well for that matter.
Death benefit is equivalent to sum assured for life plans.

Aside to aerial, manulife terms are indeed more favorable for the cancer portion as it takes out the specific sites of growth.

Hi NiteX2, thanks for your clarification. I do know about Manulife's Term, but I'm curious how pinkie is going to justify the statement to convince other's.

Wow. this is very not nice of you to bad mouth some other companies just to promote your company. haha.

Fact 1:
There is no prefect thing in the entire world. therefore no prefect product. haha
Therefore every company always has their own strength and weakness.

For cancer specific, you can also check on NTUC's Cancer Protect. the sum assured max is 100k.
This plan is designed for people who worried about the early & advance CI, I happened to see this plan when I walk past ntuc few weeks ago. Seems pretty affordable too.

Think it might be a good plan for people to start off especially they are tight in budget.

Fact 2:
TM wrote Major cancers. The area which they specific are the common areas which Major cancers is likely to occur. For rare condition, I doubt any companies insure it cause mainly due to it's high cost. That is why hospital plan with experimental drug might be helpful in such cases, which only so far 1 company insured and this explains why it is more expensive.

Please read carefully and do research before u speak.

But of course there are plans which might be more specific and details on cancer protection.

Everything is based on case by case basic. some people might have history of cancer but it does not happened in all generation or everyone in the family. Like for some, cancer only occurs to the males of the family but we never know whether if the female in this generation will have cancer. This depends.

Fact 3:
Death benefit. I think you never read the BI. My BI refers to the whole policy document.
It is stated very clearly that in the event of death: TM will pay the higher of
(a) The basic Guaranteed Benefits or
(b) the basic sum assured plus any accumulated bonuses, less indebtedness.

So if you buy guaranteed benefits 100k. No matter what it will be at least 100k.

Haha pls dont con people lei. BI is black n white.

Hope this clarifies and benefits anyone who is reading :)

For fact no 1, Did I bad mouth any company? No. I just stated the coverage area. And am I the one who bring up company TM? No. I just wrote "go back to your agent and ask them these few question" . Did u ask your agent?

For fact no 2, since that company covers experimental drug, do u know which drug and is it's still effectively? And are u sure it due to this reason, that's why the plan is more expensive?

As for ur fact no.3, we are not looking at the same type of plan. U r looking at life plan with early CI rider, whereas I'm referring to pure term plan. Seems like its u who don't understand the difference.

If you really want to compare just PM me, we can definitely meet up over a coffee.

And I agree BI is black and white, so u must understand what u are buying and covered.

based on the quote, u did mentioned a name. haha. but drop that aside.

Cause in the much earlier post, it's about WL. I didn't realize about MANUCOMPLETECARE is a term plan. It's my bad I read wrongly. Apologize for that.

So in the case, since MANUCOMPLETECARE has a good coverage. Why not share it more?

Cause more n more companies are coming out with product which focus on Cancer Coverage. To benefit others, why not you can share here :)

Apologies accepted.

Anyway, it's a forum where everyone can voice their own opinion. No right or wrong.

1) Please just check whether your standalone Early CI plan's death payout is how much?
Is it the same as the sum assured? If not same, do you still want it if there's one out there with higher payout?

2) Whether as a rider to main plan or standalone, upon diagnosis of carcinoma in-situ, do you want full payout or stagger payout? When you buy early CI coverage of $100k, do you want to get partial payout( and wait for the cancer to become worse and get the balance) OR straight up 100% payout?

3) Check the death payout during survival period? Do you want a token sum or the actual sum assured that you are paying for?

This ManuCompleteCare is not just for early CI, BUT also for death and TPD coverage.

Hello all

Will appreciate if anyone can provide me quotation for ManuCompleteCare?
considering sum assured 50K, 80K and 100K.

Currently have Prulife Multiplier base sum assured 50K and its early crisis rider 30K. Oh yea, I am born in 1988, non smoker, male.

Wonderful thread discussion so far and thanks for all contributing!
