My first experience of earthquake in Taiwan though I've been there many times. Actually very mild to me but the spouse was sitting on the bed and felt the shake. I only saw the curtains moving but never feel anything. However, quickly we ran downstairs as we supposed to meet up with our driver. Then we heard that it was 4.8 magnitude and driver told us if you are staying 3rd floor and above, don't go downstairs. Find a safe place to hide.

Please share your story of earthquake if you have experienced.

Experienced once in Tokyo, the earthquake happened outskirt of Tokyo around 6.2 magnitude.

Tokyo felt the impact. Initially I thought got train moving below my feet, then realized it was earthquake because there is no train in that area.

I was alone sleeping in my Taipei hotel room when my bed swayed mildly. I honestly wondered whether the room was haunted or that was a sign of a quake. The next morning I learnt from TV news there was a scale 5 quake in another part of Taiwan.

The more memorable quake experience I had happened in Tokyo. In the hotel room, I started to feel the entire room swaying, as if I were in a boat in rocky waters. I actually saw water from the toilet bowl swishing out onto the floor.
Luckily, it was a short quake and it ended before I start to panic.

Anyway, if the quake is severe, I believe the right thing to do is to hide under a sturdy table? (if you're not able to quickly and easily leave the building)
