Eci for newborn/children

What is your take on buying eci (early critical illness) for newborn/ children? or ci (critical illness) will do?

Currently i only buy ci for my children

add on questions:
which combination of limited wholelife is better?
1. death/tpd + ci
2. death/tpd + ci + eci
3. death/tpd + eci - really don't need ci? what disadvantage over point 2?

Currently i only buy ci for my children

Children i will buy wholelife with eci rider as eci for children premium is not huge diff to ci. And chances if eci is higher than ci if go for usually annual or routine check up etc

A 130k to 150k death/tpd and eci will be around $1k to $1.2k premium for a 25years payment term wholelife plan

Is your purpose to have a form of safety net in the event of ECI/CI or concern about insurability in the future? if it is about having a safety net, the answer is quite clear that your child is not covered in the event of ECI and you might want to look into that.

Ultimately, of course if budget permits, having ECI coverage is great. Wholelife might be an option since it is relatively competitive if you set a high multiplier and possibly could continue to provide adequate coverage even when he/she grows up

If we are talking about ECI, I believe leukaemia is likely one of the highest risk conditions if it’s cancer among children. There is science that confirms this.

It also just allows one or even both parents to take time off work to care for the child. While adults may be able to handle ECI, how well does a child manage ECI?
