| NEW: Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has refuted suggestions that he threatened to resign over the possible sale of Marc Guéhi to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
Glasner speaking in his pre-Sunderland press conference: “It’s the last time I want to talk about it. Palace fans deserve to hear how it really was.
So many things were written and said. I never threatened to leave the club. After the end of many discussions the chairman asked me ‘Oliver, do you think we can manage the season when we sell Marc?’
I said ‘Steve, honestly we can’t manage it in the short term.“
Glasner was reported to have told Palace chairman Steve Parish that if Guéhi was sold then he would quit his position.
