Hi peeps, I have a late 2012 mac mini i5 16gb that streams and web browse to my UHD TV
Lying in my Jonsbo enclosure is a evga 660 sc gfx that I plan to utilise with a egpu enclosure, is the Akitio Node the only option for this?
Any mac user here has exp with egpu on mac?

I'd recommend to check out https://egpu.io for successful egpu builds. I setup mine with razer core x enclosure with late 2012 macbook retina and amd gfx. Only sacrifices are macbook now unable to enter the sleep mode and the internal lcd display now always on due to workaround to resolve conflict between nvidia and amd.

Tks mate, seems like not mature yet the egpu and prob 2012 mac mini & GTX 660 sc prob too old to utilise. Waste to dump a perfect working gpu which is still quite decent for average gaming :s22:

You will need Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and Thunderbolt 2 cable. i managed to setup 2011 mac mini with Razer Core X by following egpu.io's guide. And I am happy with the result. So far so good except one issue; sometime it hung when I close chrome and i need to restart.
