But most taiwanese dont seem to know JJ is singaporean. When i went taiwan, I asked them they thought he was just a local taiwanese. Then many asked me what language Singaporeans speak, how come I can speak chinese?![]()

Singaporeans have a history of this .
They don't appreciate their own talents
They love to disparage their own home made stars and celebrities compared to Hong Kong and Taiwan
Singaporeans will attack them and say they're no good etc.
If Kit Chan and Stefanie Sun stayed in Singapore their whole careers ,
they won't be so well respected.
If a purely home grown star do one fully paid concert in Indoor Stadium, can they sell out the Stadium ?
In Hong Kong and Taiwan, the answer is YES. Not only 1 night but multiple nights in a row
Of course if that celebrity is anointed by an international body like Olympics its a different thing.
Even Eric Khoo and Anthony Chen aren't looked upon like they're super talented and a cut beyond other locals
