My 2 free lines expiring in a few days time. Thought of porting in my Zym line into one of the free lines. The app does not have porting option. Anyone done this way before?

you need to terminate one of the free line first before you can port over, best to do it at their service centre. less than a day will get ported.

Write in to helpme@eight.com.sg to terminate your free lines.

Then u can sign up for the free line (opt in for port in this time) using the NDP promo. NDP promo ends 31 August.

How is the NDP 88 days promo different from "normal signup" of the 88 days $0 plan?

No difference right? After 88 days, either give up or must sign up for $8 or other paid plans.

Thanks bro but seem like many here got problem with it
I very scare switch to a lousy telco with lousy connection.
if you are ok with your current telco, then don't change lor since you heard many problems

want good network and get priority, need to pay one leh
if those mvno, all quite standard cos they buy the network from the main telco
and it depends on your area if signal good or not

If you’re not in a hurry then email them with required info, then port in when the line is terminated. Otherwise head for Ubi for fastest service.

I just tried to reply using Simba and see what happened. Changed to Eight and smooth like a baby's butt. Now is chaotic coz people chasing for $0 trial plan but lazy to go through recommended channel. Ai pi Ai chi...

Only $0 now is the NDP promo.

My recommendation to you is to go online and register for the NDP promo $0 trial line. Try it for 88 days then decide if you want to keep it by signing up the $8 line be it spare line or port in depending on your needs.
Choose to pick up SIM from shop.

If I opt for eSIM and activate tonight, anyone has experience when the porting from Zym will be completed?

Does port in have to be done physically at their stores or service centre? It’s been a week and haven’t ported yet.

Update on my botched port from GOMO -> Eight (Port-in successfully, number active in GOMO & Eight network)
  • Eight finally got back to me with screenshot showing that the number is activated on Eight's network, and when was it done.
  • Sent the information to GOMO via online chat. They terminated the line on their side, and refunded me the subscription charged.
  • Must be the magic support by the Ubi service center, it all got resolved shortly after I went down for help.

Another port-in data point, ZYM -> Eight. Because ZYM data connection is patchy in many areas.
  • 26/08 00:05AM - Port in request to $0 NDP plan online
  • 26/08 - Collected pSIM @ Ubi. Surprised the boss still remembers me, and asked me if the GOMO issue is resolved. 10/10 service.
  • 28/08 00:16AM - Port in request successful. SMS received

p.s. Ubi boss say now is Simba port in headache, so those thinking of porting in from Simba, I recommend you go down to the service center if you want to play it safe.
