No.

Problems usually arise from ID information being different across telcos, or if your current plan is due for renewal soon

Google

If you activate your eight SIM card or eSIM today, usually porting in starts on the same day at night around 10pm to 11pm. Takes 1-3 days to complete assuming no issues with your ID information between telcos, and/or your current plan is not up for renewal

We don’t know. If you don’t receive it, best to go to Ubi service centre with your physical IC to collect and initiate port in there. We do not recommend going to any other service centre other than the one at Ubi, based on our experience

We don’t know. Google or check eight FAQ

yes, talk time minutes will be deducted from IDD allowance for all calls made to overseas numbers, or received from overseas numbers. Same applies if calling overseas or receiving overseas calls when you’re in Thailand (for example).

Send email to

helpme@eight.com.sg

with the following :
  1. Name as per NRIC:
  2. Last 4 digits of NRIC:
  3. Your eight number:
  4. Your date of birth:
  5. Photo of the back of your SIM card/Screenshot of your “myaccount” login

This FAQ looks so much better than eight FAQ. Haha

For new comers, please have some read on the FAQ first. Thank you and good morning.

Ported Sunday, was working for a day until totally no signal.
Exchange emails and they make you go through FAQ reset, shwap and all, then go silent. No line to call, emails never respond, even go down lucky plaza- they swap a sim and didn’t work, they said they will call back but never call back.. 2 days later line is down.
It’s to a point that you feel there is no one at eight working. That’s why we would pay premium for service.
Go for MNO ba :)

Best SIM Only for any MNO is M1. If one is eligible for CIS, do get the M1 CORI SIM Only 200GB 5G SA for only $14.95/mth, 12 months caller ID. M1 5G is actually good, much better than their 4G
what is the talk time bundle?

Worse is we are stuck. Planning to go down ubi later to seek help again…

So far porting issue cost us a lot of time and effort.. we bought an eSIM for 12 bucks to tied thru this issue.
1) parking to go lucky plaza - $5
2) esim - $12
3) 3-5 hours troubleshooting and traveling around, googling and figuring out

Very very Sian.. if anything we just found value in telcos with great support. 真的不值得.
We thought we were already past the first move phase and found it okay to change because of raving reviews.

… because of raving reviews.
For sure we did not write raving review of Lucky Plaza support. looks like u r royally f-ed by Lucky Plaza team.

But what we did write a raving review of is Ubi service centre support. He is very interested in any cases especially peculiar ones.

We paid one of the low income tax in the world but that does not stop anyone from banging table at our gahment if there is any shortcoming. Right?

if there is any plight that you would like them to know, visit ubi svc centre.

How come lucky plaza charges esim???

because they can?

i've not been there, but they sound like a outsourced/contracted shop. whether charging for esim is allowed under their service agreement is one thing, but if it is not and they are not caught (or caught but not sanctioned), they get an implicit green light to continue.

as we have seen, reading ability alone is not enough ("raving reviews"), but critical thinking and ability to discern is more important ("why do the reviews recommend against lucky plaza and keep encouraging going to ubi? why do subscribers go all the way to ubi especially when porting in their main line?").

If the online bad reviews continues, if i am eight, i will close down Lucky Plaza and move the service centre to Orchard Central, shops near Simba service centre. So my bad reviews can be "removed".
