Ubi service centre is recommended based on collective past experiences. If you go anywhere else and they do anything funny and you come back and tell us, we will just  :sneaky:
1. Online purchase of line + porting - go down Ubi to collect + do porting?
2. Purchase from retailer - walk in to Ubi service centre - online the spot get sim + wait 2-3 days for the porting?

Huh? Porting is not as easy as abc? 😮
r u planning to use pSIM or eSIM?

if eSIM, just do online.
if pSIM, go Ubi or Lucky Plaza.

If it is just your home wifi network and do not want to keep the number, go to an ahbeng shop at TPY and get the pSIM and terminate your GIga.

U can opt for snail mail and they will send you the pSIM.

Ubi is service centre.
You can get the SIM card there too.

Just like SIMBA, you can put your credit card details. It will deduct automatically.

If you wanna be like me, a cheap charlie, I used Shopee to top up. together with vouchers and coins, you get to pay at lower price for the $8 top up.

Do a search in shopee, and this thread. valuables information had been shared.

Wanna check if need to enable VOLTE to make roaming calls back to sg?

And does anyone managed to use the roaming data in China successfully?

Keep searching in this thread for clues.

btw, one of our member's wife was using GIGA had zero complaints for years. Once ported to Eight, she complained no signal. You may want to trial eight first. If eight suits you, proceed to terminate Giga. If eight not good, you continue using Giga.

Yes. but most important question is
"Does your destination have partner for VoLTE network as per eight's list of partners?"
Like bolehland and Thailand, eligible ya?

Btw does anyone managed to use the roaming data in China successfully?

You input credit card info, turn on "Auto Recharge" then by right monthly will deduct from there.

Alternatively, don't zzz first. Under half an hour go to Shopee get the 50% max 200 coins cashback voucher. Can use to top up wallet and perhaps join us for our Christmas 2025 gathering here.

But first, go get your SIM card first, be it port in or buy new. Remember physical NRIC no crack no bad scratches. Test and if really like the network then think about best/preferred way to recharge.
