Some went around signing up and collecting premium numbers. So they are selling the numbers, just waiting for the right sucker buyer who is willing to pay their cutthroat price but they are not willing to pay to maintain the lines, so maximum profit.

Then there are some who just like the bragging rights. In one well known case during the TPG/SIMBA trials, there's a famous person who allegedly signed up for 20 lines and went around bragging about it.
so the number of unique subscribers for each telco is actually very inflated :s13:

back on serious note, say Simba, one cannot transfer ownership one unless go to a telco that can do.

Not bad. They let you feel good for 1st 6 months, then miserable for the next 6 months.

For some reason, such short-term promotions really annoy me. You get used to using 180GB for six months, and suddenly on the seventh month you run out of data because it reverts back to 20GB.

same goes to m1 maxx
they came up with 7.90 for 9gb + 1gb data roaming
then 2nd month 5.90, and dunno subsequent month how much...
and pricing only valid for a year
why make pricing so complex? and for those consumers who do not read the fine print, may kena stuck, thinking it is 7.90 all the way

I also don’t like those time limited promotional terms. That’s why I consider eight to be quite honest.

cheap and works for me zym main line local and MY , Simba secondary .. Eight maybe

SH is my company's phone line i just use for emails

not a m1 fan

Usage based on personal preference. How about you since you asked?

I've used Shittel, Starhub, M1, Vivifi, Zym and now Eight.

The first two telcos were way back then when there were no smartphones yet. M1 was alright for me but decided to switch to a MVNO for the attractive price and data etc.

Vivifi is fine but no app so I prefer Zym.

Eight is the best due to the price and data roaming. No horse run.

I still think Eight is great value even without the 88 days free. As long as you also got the $8 bonus balance, you effectively get two months free usage of Eight, which isn't bad by any means.

Now, new signups of Eight get zero days free. They have to pay from Day One.

Eight's current "promotion" isn't actually a promotion, it is a permanent increase to the entitlements in their Double Eight and Triple Eight plans. I suppose you can consider it a permanent promotion, but it isn't your typical promotion if that makes any sense.
yes im still thankful. especially with the $8 top up free 200 coins, which works out to $6. tq for the reply

Question: for porting into Eight, is it able to set the port in date? I visited the online port in, there's no place to select port in date. Can port in date be set if visit their Eight Retailer?

If you go Ubi service centre ask for SIM card, and activate there, then port in will initiate on eight’s end on that day loh

No, you cannot set port-in date.
It's up to eight's mercy discretion on the porting date.

UPDATE:
I signed up esim online on Sunday 2-3pm.
I wanted the port-in to start on Sunday.
but it only happens on monday night 11pm.
