wanted a eSIM for ipad.. should I get with line or just data only?
With Eight Telecom, you get an OTP to log in to your mobile line account. Whereas if you get their data-only plan, there's a service number to be used for login and I presume a (preset?) password(?) since we can't receive OTP from an iPad.

You might want to check on these first.

I tot of transferring the eSIM to phone when needed
From what I understand, you'll have to visit a service centre or write to them to get a new code.

Hw's the connection on train between Ang Mo Kio MRT to Raffles Place MRT?

Currently using ZYM and thinking if should switch to either Eight/ Simba.

On the train, if watching youtube / tiktok, its always lagging/ buffering. Yes, I'm aware that MNVO customer have the least priority. Not asking for the fastest speed but more on reliable and stable connection.

not a problem between bishan and raffles place with either.
just don't do speed tests esp on simba.

simba often has drops, but youtube has sufficient buffering to cover it (compensates for simba's shortcomings).
But when loading webpages or using apps which are not buffered, then eight is better.

Thanks for sharing, seems like Eight is slightly better.

If my existing telco contract ends Jan-15, when is the earliest I can apply for port-in to Eight?

And is there difference in timing and process if I choose postal mail delivery VS go to Ubi for port-in? How early can I apply for each case?

Thank you.

The earliest you can get the Eight SIM to be activated will be on 16 Jan. The port in request will be processed once the SIM is activated.

If you opt for postal mail delivery of SIM card, best to do it 1.5 weeks before 16 Jan so that the SIM card can arrive just in time for 16 Jan.

If you prefer going down to Ubi, you can head down to the store on 16 Jan day itself.

Thank you very much. To clarify, would there be an issue if I go to Ubi and apply for port-in on Jan15 which is contract end with old telco?

There will be an issue as you are still under contract with your current telco on 15 Jan and you will be incurring a contract termination fee.

To avoid any possible fees incurred, best is to go to Ubi on 16 Jan onwards.

I agree.

Don't know why even one day need to hiam and risk early termination fee. Makes no sense to me.

I can only think trying to avoid paying for the following month.
But if it's postpaid with the MNOs it's always pro-rated and they'll issue a refund for the unused pro-rated amount.

So it still doesn't make any sense, unless our assumptions are wrong.

For roaming data, once we exceeded the limit, will it auto-cut off the data? If not, how is the billing like?

Anyone face IDD calling back to Singapore issue when in Malaysia KL and Genting Highland? When I tried to call back to SG it failed and I realized that there is no VOLTE.

Is the sim card via Postal service free or we need to top up?

Was reading tru the FAQ which stated the mail will reach us between 5-7 days after completing the website sign-up, and the activation code is valid for 14 business days from date of order submission, did anyone face any issue with getting the SIM card via post resulting in activation code being expire or any other issue?
