Maybe your phone issue ... adding more info on your mobile phone / model may help

JB or any place around Malaysia all roaming telcos are about same for most telcos they are all roaming properly

My Maxis / U mobile / Cellcom

It was automatically connected to Maxis using Eight Telecom. 2 bars to 4 bars. Usually at 3-4 bars.

Yes! Quite a few times I noticed my phone was connected to 5G. Got the 5G logo but not sure if really got 5G speed

One of the 5G was at the JB custom wor. When I was walking at the fountain area, going back to Singapore direction.

Haha yah lor. But not sure if there is really 5G speed or just show show only? Since I’m overseas so I don’t really pay attention to whether it is 4G or 5G and how the speed is like as long as my internet is working.

A day trip costs me 1.5GB of roaming data for google maps, WhatsApp, making some calls, and internet usage. Not much social media surfed.

I do get higher speeds in JB with 5G compared to 4G in SG, dont think its for show. Malaysia's median 5g speeds also typically higher than SG 5G speed anw.

Dial *#*#86583#*#* to disable volte check. Then you can enable VoLTE.

In addition, you can also dial *#*#869434#*#* to disable vowifi check. Then you can enable Wi-Fi calls.
