the speed has nothing to do with quota. the quota is crazy until no one needs to be bother about it.

speed wise really depends on luck already. so far i am good with eight $8 plan even on 4G only.

if eight cannot satisfy you, the easiest way is to port out.

Why roaming so much faster than sg speed sia

Cuz speed so slow, moi at home not even crowded area also cannot load fhd video.

in bolehland the roaming data speed is NOT consistent at all.

sometimes fast and sometime slow (but most of the time slow - speed around 5Mbps+- for download only)

i had done many many speed tests but also could not come to a conclusion for it.
It does not have a fix pattern when it will become 5Mbps+-.
i had previously tot that it may be becos:
1) after used certain amount of roaming data of the day, then it throttles the speed
2) it throttles the speed at specific timing

none of the above i can confirm based on my tests as it does not have any consistent pattern to prove it.

but what i can be certain is that most of the time is still 5Mbps+-, higher speed are only at rare occasion.

hey guys its just that telcos do not throttle speedtest (they left it in a high mode lol) . It is fake result in my opinion.
You guys should try doing...

Fast.com
and others. you will know the real speed.

same for other telcos..

You guys should try doing...

I would say for different usage, fast.com is made by Netflix.... to test your home internet speed if it's stable for streaming. Maybe you can use nperf.com

Still need loading for 720p. Even go hardwarezone also need wait leh. Tbf not consistent some time good and others not.

Coming from ZYM. i ported 3rd line to Eight after ZYM shutdown 5G NSA for my account.
Few day i started going out and found Eight struggle badly especially 6pm crowd. Whole family under eight cant use anything.
Back in ZYM, i only have this issue in tunnel around Outram Park.
Wanted to port out immediately, do i need to wait 30 days ?

No need wait, but you will be forsaking the balance days on Eight that is.

But this time how about testing whichever next MNO or MVNO you choose before switching the whole family? It's also possible that different MNOs or MVNOs are better suited to different family members.

How abt adjusting usage habits? After all, most networks are one way or another unable to avoid this congestion phenomenon. Slow speed or peak hour congestion is really not that crucial, your device can do a lot of things offline too. Think about the monthly expenses saved, it is definitely worthwhile.

eight 4G or 5G plan?

If using eight 4G plan which is known to be pretty congested, give eight 5G plan a try.

ZYM dropped my 1st line(Wife) 5G(NSA) to 4G only last month so i transfer to 5G Eight.
Then I started getting complain in MRT from wife. I brush them off
Then ZYM dropped my 5G(SA) to 4G (4g plan) end of last month. So i moved to 5G Eight.

We go out last weekday, it struck me all 3 Eight struggle in MRT. Clementi to JE nothing load on 5G and 4G. The Tiong Bhru to City Hall FB lag so bad. Even my music streaming dead(never have this with ZYM).
For same price 10.10, i going back to ZYM. when my plan nearing expiry.

in fact at Boonlay. ZYM 4G speed test is faster than Eight 5G on same device.

Forgo the balance plan. U go back now can get perm 5g for 10.10 plan. Till end july i think.
