should be eight problem. ever since data is shared SG/MY. dec went MY no such issue, can even get 5G signal very stable. now set 4G auto, 5G auto, restart phone.....majority of the time is "E". Worst is that try calling also can't work too (becos no VoLTE????).

zero1 with strong 5G signal no problem....
Now that you have mentioned....agree that Dec'24 was ok. Now very jialat...some area in JB totally no signal.

Just remembered that Jan 2025, I went too, the data was very fast no issue too. I was at KSL, City Square, MidValley, Paradigm Mall, all no such issue happening. Still recall everyone is very happy with it. It can even get 5G signal too, although I only switch to 5G to test for a while then switch back to 4G.

before that i go JB, on the bridge there's reception and can switch over to Malaysia network (manually since I kiasu) . Now even switch over manually, it also doesn't want to join. in the end, I just use other sim card .

The way roaming works is that traffic will have to go back to your home network first before going out to the internet. If you’re camped to say PartnerA and no data moves, it could means that the tunnel between PartnerA and Eight is congested, offline, or otherwise not available. In this case, you can try PartnerB, if available.

The other thing to take note is that Eight offers 4G plans. Roaming partners may let you camped onto their 5G network for whatever reason. Later, it may then decide to kick you back to 4G. The transition between 4G and 5G radios and network can be problematic at times. To avoid such issues, just tell your phone to use only 4G network. If you’re already stuck, then set to airplane mode, wait 10 seconds, and toggle it off.

At the worst, buy a local SIM card.

I remember there was some mentioned that the latency while roaming in MY for eight is much higher than Singtel based MVNOs. If there is some congestion in the MY side, a low latency connection will be slower, while the high latency one might become unusable.

Anyone has issues with porting over.

I signed up for eight yesterday for porting over from starhub.

my starhub sim is not working and my eight sim card is not working as well (i cant even check the update of port over with the temp number and port over number online).

I tried to call my own temp number and port over number, but cant be reached.

Porting fails sometime for the unlucky ones, best you go Eight shop and check your line out.

I also encountered it before. It will be working at 10am based on a few people who same issues too. You will receive a sms stating portover successful.

any idea how to dial IDD on a handset that doesn't support +?
tried 001, 008 and 018 to no avail.
Try? Unless Eight has its own...

How to dial an international call from Singapore?

Simply key in 002, 021 or 033 IDD prefix before the country code, area code, and overseas telephone number.

To dial an international call from an Eight (previously known as 8mobile) line in Singapore, dial the Singapore IDD prefix (001), followed by the country code, area code, and finally the local phone number. For example, to call Malaysia, you would dial 001 > 60 > area code > phone number.
