Hi, mind asking.
Is your mum $8 plan currently under your name? If yes, u just change to senior plan?
Thz
Hello, no, it is under her name. I usually top up her account month by month first, sometimes for the next 2-3 months $16-24. I didn’t want to put in too much credits in her account and I don’t want to link my credit card in her account for auto top up as well. A bit of a hassle though.

Then recently, her credit used up. I then happened to see the senior plan :s13: I just top up $5, then choose the plan I want from the dropdown list. Can just switch around the plan every time the plan ends I guess. :)
De-select “auto renew”

No, don't port to Eight. Like SIMBA, Eight does not support transfer of ownership.

However, it should be possible to transfer ownership of a mobile number as you port into VIVIFI. VIVIFI is currently offering an inexpensive $7.70 per month 4G plan. Then the new line owner can port out of VIVIFI if he/she wants. (But $7.70 per month on a Singtel MVNO is really rather good.) Or choose the 4G VIBE plan which works out to $5 per month for 12 months (if you stay with VIVIFI for 12 months) using their current port-in promotion. Or their Roam Asia Super $15/month plan; some port-ins qualify for 3 months paid, 9 months free. You should see all the port-in promotion options online during the sign-up process, and then you can decide.

CAUTION: Be prepared to lose this mobile number if something goes wrong. There might be a little risk in this.
Hmm okay thank you. Sounds complicated! I think we will just keep the Simba line. Cannot afford to lose his mobile number at all… 🥹

Their FB didn’t even update anything. The 88 days free sounds good. That’s like 3 months.

For the top up credits, not sure if wanna commit to them long term… :o but leceh to switch around.

There’s also risk you’ll lose the number with the status quo. The currently assigned owner of the line is sadly deceased. The government and mobile carriers are more concerned about SIM/eSIM abuse and misuse, as they define it. (The government enacted a new law in April, 2024, that contained new SIM/eSIM-related provisions.) I don’t think we can rule out the possibility of future periodic audits to close lines owned by deceased people.

If you cannot afford to lose the number, fix that. Prepare to lose it as best you can. But FWIW my view is you ought to take advantage of VIVIFI’s transfer-ownership-on-port-in offer “soon.” No promises, but I think it’s the least risky option if you want to preserve this number. Then get to a carrier that has a documented transfer ownership on death option (if that isn’t VIVIFI; I haven’t checked that part). SIMBA is not currently a good carrier for these purposes since they don’t facilitate any transfers of ownership. Nor does Eight.
