Btw, 5g is poor in Chinatown mrt/area

That is probably normal, especially during peak hours.

Basically none of the providers are good at underground MRT tunnels, especially in the CBD areas, due to the capacity limit of the base stations and backend.

In this case, priority may play a part. Then Eight 5G may be worse than StarHub proper and giga.

1) StarHub 5G Platinum
2) StarHub 5G Unlimited+
3) StarHub Star SIM Only (no more to new users) 5G
4) giga 5G
5) eight 5G

Not so sure about the MyRepublic 5G and CUniq 5G. redOne does not have 5G plans now

pretty sure is the latter.
"winding down 4G" so that you guys cannot tolerate and rage upgrade to 5G.
more $$$ to earn, why not.

I would not say that StarHub is "winding down 4G" but rather it may be due to backend capacity allocation, especially during peak hours.

They will focus on 5G, improving 5G Radio Access Networks through deploying more base stations. They will also improve the 5G Core Network.

On the 4G side, I tend to think they will keep the current base stations running and maintain the 4G Core Network.

So you may not see degradation in terms of signal level but you may see significant speed drop in 4G speed, especially during peak hours.

Same for 4G
1) StarHub 5G Platinum 4G fallback
2) StarHub 5G Unlimited+ 4G fallback
3) StarHub Star SIM Only (no more to new users) 4G fallback
4) giga 4G
5) eight 4G

Not so sure about the CUniq 4G and redOne 4G, maybe similar to giga 4G or eight 4G

Chinatown mrt as in not in the train itself. It's at the top up card machine area. And also at Chinatown complex, shopee app is loading, cannot even go to cart.

Another reason why I would not consider starhub based. I would rather go with M1, at least with M1, i can summon an airplane. But starhub, some places can suddenly no network, can't even summon any types of airplanes.

Need go mama shop buy styrofoam planes haha
Haha. Using StarHub, I need to use my hands as an antenna and talk to the skies. Always have issue with no network at random places. This happens many times in the past when i was on MyRepublic 4G UNO (Starhub), giga, and eight. All having the same issue. Never again

For me I've had issues with m1 previously and now starhub. I think singtel suits me in terms of usage pattern, area i'm staying and locations that i frequent

I see. Thanks.

Today I find a problematic place for Eight 4G, thanks to the challenge by brother Jurong640.

The challenge is to check out Singtel S$15.28 plan and probably also compare with M1 Maxx. Both are actually okay.

Try going to City Square Mall Basement 1, Kopi & Tarts. Zero1 and Simba failed tragically. Luckily, i got my maxxie to save the day, other wise i have to wash plates.

For Eight 4G plan, Kopi & Tarts shop is still okay even with very low speed. Jollybee in City Square Mall Basement 1 is worse, especially at the counter area. I could not run SpeedTest at all.

In fact it is also bad for StarHub Prepaid S 5G plan. My daughter complained about slow network even though she could still browse the internet in the eating area.

You really went to City Square Mall to walk walk?

Means City Square Mall parts of Basement 1 is pretty bad for Singtel, Simba and Starhub? All the S is bad.

All hail M1 Maxx as the saviour. Sole survivor in City Square Mall

Yes. And also bring my daughter outside. If not, she just keeps playing games at home.

My test shows SingTel SIM Only Plan is pretty good, M1 Maxx is also pretty good. Eight is bad. StarHub Prepaid S 5G is also bad.

Can ask your daughter to help do speedtest for simba too, then can no need play game.

Give her a task, if you can get 200mbps download speed on simba, papa treat you beach road curry rice.

Regarding the recent promos for port in to 5G and get 2 months free...

If we port out or terminate the line say a week before the end of 3rd month, won't that effectively be $5/month?
