my existing number is Singtel CIS number and it seems my company unwilling to authorize the transfer the number to me.
This seems wierd. Is there a reason given?

Had a colleague who requested to port a line from personal to corporate and it also took a damn long time as singtel was unwiling to release to starhub for reasons unknown.
Only expedited when our account manager intervene

let's say if I don't port over my existing number, does it mean I get stuck with the temporary number given to me ? The number is quite bad. Is it possible, and how do I select another number on Eight ?
Fastest would be to head down to EIGHT service center and tell them to cancel this line / port in

Cheem. Cis is under your personal name. Corporate/ business plan is under company name. I’ve not encountered issue with porting from Singtel cis after contracted ended. I think you can call up Singtel normal hotline to ask for help if it’s really cis aka under your own name.

I had issue with simba to eight once a couple years back and it took quite a long time. I think simba side min period not yet hit when I submitted the port in request so simba rejected. Customer service from eight told me to call in once the other telco is ready and then they will do the port in. Meantime i was stuck with paying both sides.

all ended well though. Ported in was submitted before i called the eight hotline finally.

hi there
I recently signed up for Eight plan and requested for number porting to retain my existing number
however, my existing number is Singtel CIS number and it seems my company unwilling to authorize the transfer the number to me.

let's say if I don't port over my existing number, does it mean I get stuck with the temporary number given to me ? The number is quite bad. Is it possible, and how do I select another number on Eight ?
Subscribe to a new number and let the bad number terminate by itself by not renewing your subscription

As above CIS is registered with your own name, just that you get special rate using your company's name.

If it's a number registered by the company and given to you to use, then you shouldn't be allowed to port that unless company changes the ownership to you.

For Macau, they listed CTM in their preferred roaming telco list previously in their PDF list. However, after they revamp their website then strangely they revert to Smartone.
Macau currently only have CTM and China Telecom Macau.
Sort of. Hutchison sold 3Macau to C.T.M. Telemovel+ earlier this year, but (for now anyway) 3Macau is still a separate network due to regulatory commitments.

Yeah actually same ah, i just tried because i have balance inside my wallet :D

ic. Ok. Ok. The only exception I would try to get the higher plan is during travelling.

paying a few bucks more and get more roaming data is good. save the trouble to buy extra plan. Can just renew to higher plan before travelling. 🤪

Not sure if it is samsung, but 4g under eight is super slow. Sometimes prompt "no internet". Anyone ever transfer credits or get refund before?
It does appears to be much better, on the other hand, maxx's wifi calling is a lot less reliable on Samsung phones lately.

eight 4g is crap during peak periods congested cannot use at all like donating to charity.

5G spotty during peak, use hang use hang.

Non peak i suspect should be fine.
