KFC Jurong Point, eight 4G versus Singtel 4G.

This is just an example though, there are places where eight 4G is faster than SingTel 4G.

Based on my tests, non-SIMBA 5G plans are better than SingTel 4G or SingTel hi! 4G but I have not tested eight 5G plan, only SingTel 5G, Starhub Prepaid S 5G, Maxx 5G and CL 5G.

Take note there are no more 4G plans to new uses from SingTel, SingTel hi! and SingTel Gomo. Zym, Zero1, VIVIFI and CMLink S$7ish 4G plans are usually not worth to sign up either as the S$10ish plans often got 50% OFF and 5G forever promotion.

1) eight 4G S$8 plan, Poco X6 Pro

2) SingTel 5G S$15.28 plan in 4G mode (forced to 4G LTE mode)

Starhub does not have 4G plans, eight does not have 4G plans to new users.

Only Starhub Prepaid S$12 plan (not really worth it), giga, MR and CUniq still have 4G plans on Starhub network. Most of these 4G plans are not really worth the price on Starhub networks now that eight 5G plans are pretty cost effective.

SingTel MVNOs S$10ish plan with free 5G forever and 50% OFF port-in promotion (paying three months for six months subscription) are also pretty good.

Of course eight 4G plan users (S$8 plan and S$5 Senior plan) who do not issues can always stay. Many of the users for these two plans have one-for-one top-up offers so that effective price is only at S$4 per month and S$2.5 per month.

This is the case of forcing users to adopt 5G plans eventually, those on legacy 4G plans do change with cautions unless future new 5G plans eventually matches existing 4G promo price plans which are highly unlikely given market consolidation in progress.

4G is more than enough if not overly congested. Starhub 4G Singal coverage is actually not bad. Unfortunately eight 4G can be congested in quite some places.

BTW, Singtel 4G network is also not that good in quite some places. M1 4G network is even worse than Singtel and Starhub 4G network in terms of coverage.

All in all, time to move to 5G if you have issues with eight 4G.

I have tested many plans for local usages. We still keep one eight S$8 line mainly for roaming and backup usage.
SingTel 5G, Starhub Prepaid S legacy 5G plan, Maxx 5G and CL 5G

I understand that there are users who have no issues with eight 4G as the use cases can be different:
1) locations frequent can be different.
2) use cases can be different.
3) expectations can be different.

So meaning to say, If I signed up for the 1y plan last Friday. I'm stuck with it for 1y?
Seems like the case.
I also just bought the old 1y plans last Tuesday, it's like a slap in the face.
I wrote in to eight support email, yet to get a reply.

I ported over from Singtel hi!’s $13 plan to the 5G+ Power Plan for $96 over 14 months. The local data, APAC roaming data and international roaming data allowances appear to be valid for 8 months.

I’ve been using it for four days and haven’t noticed any difference compared with hi! so far. At $96 Ć· 14, that’s about $6.86 a month—apart from senior plans, I don’t think there’s anything else this cheap.

I am still on the $8 plan. Was thinking of doing one month upgrade to get more overseas data, but seems like the can’t switch back to the $8 plan after that?

Alr say one year plan.. u expected to switch out after a day?? Lol...
Yah, a one-year plan that was offered for 2-3 weeks which thereafter immediately changed out with cheaper or equally priced with theoretically better coverage (5G+) while obsoleting the old plans.
There is no switching out here, just hoping for basic courtesy to customer when eight had only been offering the previous 1 year plans for a short period of 2-3 weeks before completely removing it and replacing with better plans. Already paid 1 year so can **** on them however? lol
It's not big money in question so it's whatever if they decide not to upgrade existing users, but it is funny this type of gloating mindset here.
What next, laugh at those who sign up for this new batch of 1 year 5G+ plans if it gets changed in a couple weeks again? lmfao

I don't see people getting mocked for "begging" for freebies to retroactively apply to existing customers like on Singtel MVNO threads btw.
