新加坡最早5月份举行大选?这个消息可不是空穴来风,而是来自一家报章的分析。

原来,新加坡选举局已在本月招标,要耗资100万新元设立选举热线,以回答公众的询问。

根据海峡时报的报道,这项通过政府电子商务网站(GeBIZ)招标要求,得标者要在在3个月内开通热线

其中“通讯与导航系统”方面花费约50万元,“电脑有关硬件、软件和服务”方面花费约50万元

投标期在3月16日结束,但目前不清楚开标日期。

海峡时报引述观察家说,大选最早也应该在9月后举行。但该报引述另一名观察家说,也可能最早5月大选。

新加坡法律规定,来届大选最晚必须在2017年初举行,但一般相信,大选将在年内举行。

也有分析师说,完全有可能在热线完成前,总理李显龙宣布大选

If what the article asserts its true. Its pretty plausible.

Paying 100 000 to set up a hotline setup to answer electoral question within 3 months is a pretty big sum.

maybe is reverse psychology leh

but to hold elections during a recession is really bad for the ruling party. it is to the ruling party's benefit to hold elections during good times,

It doesn't matter whether it's May 2015 or May 2016.

GCPs + Minority race + New Citizens already EXCEEDED 50% of the votes. The best result would probably WP wins East Coast GRC & Geylang SMC but PAP would STILL be the one in power:s13:

Maybe now is a good time loh.

They know economy going down alrdy. Now everybody still optimistic mah.

Like waste of money. Was it done before in the past. If not, why now.
