My monitor blanks out sometimes and comes back on.

After updating drivers etc and still not solving the issue, I finally noticed it actually happens every time the heater / kitchen lights / and other so-far unidentified appliances/switches get activated.

Does anyone know what I can do short of moving my computer somewhere else?

Also, this only happened when I changed my pc. The old one had no such issue.

Thanks.

I believe your new computer might be drawing more electricity from the wall socket. Are you able to plug the monitor or the computer into another wall socket via an extension cord to test?

I am also currently facing the same prob.
Just upgraded my Desktop and dual monitors.
S2440L connecting via HDMI cable
S2415H connecting via DVI-VGA cable.

Only the S2440L suffers this issue. while the other S2415H is ok.
Current suspect now is HDMI cable or home power earth leak.

Hope any others who faces this issue would advice on how they overcame it.

Hi, i'm facing the same problem too when i purchased the new asus hdmi moniter. But once you changed the stock cable away it should be fine and i suspect the stock cable is having problem. If you have spare hdmi cable try it before you purchase & hope this will help you slove your problem. :)

The surge in power whenever an appliance on the same power node probably due to overloading on that particular node and affect other connected and powered ones.

i am guessing you have a long multi plug and everything is plugged to it. shift your appliances to another wall socket? I cant possibly imagine what kitchen appliances are connected to it. your computer is in the kitchen?
