I just bought a Sharp air purifier from Japan. Totally forgot about the voltage difference. Plugged in the machine, then a loud "pop" and tripped the circuit board.

Means the purifier is gone? Any chance of repairing it?

Nope. unless you're pretty good with soldering, gone.

Prepare to pay for repairs from 3rd parties
And ask them change to 220v power board

correct me if i am wrong... usually the things that got blown is the fuse first... so if manage to replace the fuse should be ok?

or could be the capacitor too?
