RENEW (REcycling Nation’s Electronic Waste)

Can't find any near Holland area. I'm not lugging a dead ATX mobo down to Suntec...

Vast majority are in schools. Guess what, you need to register to step into any school (other than universities, since those are public spaces, but NTU is at one corner of the island). Because every visitor is a potential pedophile, kidnapper, vandal, or terrorist.

Recycling friendly? Bah...

Put such a bin within 5m radius of one another throughout the island

Reread what I wrote and look the list of bin locations in the link.

Most of the frigging bins are in schools that require registration to enter, or some out of the way condominum along West Coast. Only a handful are in public places.

What they should be doing is to put them in a central location of every housing estate, accessible to members of the public.

Okay sorry don't know you so serious. But I think they targeting at schools more because they want to inculcate a habit in them? That's the usual consensus and I do agree with you that it seemed off balance the ratio.

The decision to put these bins in condominium is very unsound.

But Put outside (public places) also scared got looters. Never know. May wish to feedback to them about this. If they are really serious into this, they will look into your consideration.

Yeah, I agree the locations aren't great. None convenient for me either. But I wouldn't mind lugging a mobo down to a central location like Funan/Vivo, since I do go there sometimes, and the need to dump a dead mobo is at best a once in 3-5 years kinda thing for most of us, so it's a minor inconvenience.

It's frustrating, but think about how long it's taken them to finally roll out enough bins for regular recyclables. Seems like e-waste recycling is still in the infancy stage, but hopefully it'll get there.

Anyway, we don't generate e-waste as frequently as normal recyclables like paper/plastic, I imagine it takes way longer to fill up, so would be impractical to operate that many public boxes if they can't clear it regularly. You're going to get all sorts of junk in it, stuff may end up being looted anyway. At that point, might as well dump it if you don't know if it's going to get recycled properly.

But Put outside (public places) also scared got looters. Never know. May wish to feedback to them about this. If they are really serious into this, they will look into your consideration.

Yeah, confirm will have looters. I've already seen people koping stuff from the bins for normal recyclables like paper/plastics :s13: I think ewaste may probably attract more attention.

Damn efficient, this is the ideal recycling scenario. Convenient for everyone. Leave stuff there, whoever wants it takes it. I have recycled my fair share of stuff discarded by my neighbours. :s13:
