Review: Elephone P7000
This phone came out of the box with lollipop 5.0. The OS is very simple, and phone was clean, with only a single page of the most basic apps and not a single bloatware. My first impression of this phone was pretty good.
I bought it at $315 undiscounted price, felt it was too much of a hassle to try and get the discount code but even at this price I wasn't complaining.
The packaging
Sorry for no pictures of the actual phone, the only decent camera I have is on it, anything else I got is a potato shooter.
The packaging is similar to my previous phone the OnePlus One. A tempered glass screen protector and a leather flip case comes in it together with the phone. Neat package, cable and charger is in the middle compartment, does not come with any earphones.
Design & Build Quality
I got the white set, which honestly I was quite disappointed with the look especially the plastic-looking back. The metal bezal on the edge of the the phone is less than what I thought. Comparing it to my previous OnePlus One, I find it is lacking aesthetically. Though the phone does feel pretty solid and heavy when handling.
The home button is the middle is a capacitive button, which is to my surprise because I thought it was a hardware button at first

There is no notification light and the home button functions as one, there is a led glow around the button which can be set to light up certain colours for different reason. There is also a back and menu button though its hidden, causing many people to think there isn't one.
Battery Life
The P7000 comes with a removable 3450mAh battery, will show some specs on my first charge.
Charged it to 90% this morning before heading out. Screen is on adaptive brightness, used mostly for surfing the internet on a mix of both WiFi and 4G LTE
I actually expected more, and seems the idle drain is a lot. Anyhow, I'm hoping it gets better as this is just my first charge.
Camera and Audio
The camera sensor on this phone is the sony IMX214, similar to the OnePlus One. The camera is pretty good, but the camera app that came with it is pretty basic. Will update this post with more sample photos taken when I get the time.
Speakers on this phone is
TERRIBLE! I read it on a thread on xda that people are complaining about the speakers but didn't think much of it until i tested it myself. If you like playing music through your phone speakers, I would tell you to stay far away from this phone.
Sound is pretty decent when you plug in your headset though, so music while travelling should be no problem.
Conclusion
At 300 bucks, you can't go wrong with this. The UI is pretty basic and I'm hoping they would release a rom that is more customizable. I have not tried gaming on this device yet but I would like to presume it would do a good job at it considering its packing the same GPU as the galaxy s6.
I know I'm probably missing a lot of content in my review but that's because of the limited time I have with it, feel free to ask anything and I'll try my best to answer them.
