Story time.
Yours truly did not just simply volunteered to be deployed to the COVID-19 pandemic front line to do battle with the COVID-19 monster.
Nope.
Limpeh told the powers that be aka HR, to send me there, because I possess a unique set of skills and experience; I knew I was up to the *hellish(?)* task, and I could handle it...AND more importantly, I told HR that I could mentor the young ones.
Long story short - I sincerely believe that I delivered.
Looking back right now, it truly was the best (and most meaningful) job that I ever had.
End of true story.
