It seems like allibaba and a whole lot of tech companies are going to join the MSCI emerging market index.

So far, no news from FTSE yet and I note that only the US listed etf are going through this change. That's unless I miss out something. Does anyone have any info?

I think FTSE announced they'd do this a few months ago - ironically, just when the Chinese A-shares peaked. I remember saying "don't invest in Vanguard's EM ETFs or anything else linked to the FTSE, they're paying the ding-dong high for China A-shares, this is dumb". MSCI wisely put it off a bit.

EDIT: Disregard this, I am dumb. MSCI wants to add the US-listed shares to their indices, not the A-shares.

No worries man. Actually this is what's raising my eye brown. If FTSE is gonna do the same, then I think their weighting in China is gonna go up significantly.
