In today's context where SSD has bigger capacity and more mature technology do we still need to disable system restore to save space & prolong the life span of ssd?

well this more of user base opinion, can varies much. since not many is still willing to buy 1tb SSD due to the pricing segment. 500GB to some is already quite costly to some.

next having it is totally fine, as now many new ssd have good endurance in the write cycle life.

The SSD will become obsolete long before you hit its TBW. I use mine for everything except data.

ask yourself one simple question.
how many times you actually use system restore for your OS?

You can set aside whatever size you want, it doesn't use a lot of space.

For me it has saved the trouble of reinstalling windows because some software installed a browser hijacker which spam advertisements and make browsing slow

It cannot be removed by reinstalling Firefox/chrome but a system restore to an earlier date removed the program

dedicating 10% of ssd space to system restore is worth it .....
it can save your butt when something go wrong .... 10% of ssd cost is like $10 - 50 ....

worth using up the write cycle
