Cos the requirement is to stay in TW for at least 10 months in a year that’s why

but everything is provided for
My 2 cents on this is that moving abroad for work is a big consideration. Whether can adapt to the culture there, cannot speak and read Chinese well, away from family, etc. Maybe better if can bring parents along

Everything provided for also must see what type of accommodation, eat company canteen food? How about transportation? Working hours? Leave?

Scared go there later not what we expect then how? If it is a reputable international MNC then no need so scared, if local family business then ppl will be more wary

I have attended Taiwan MNC interview . I pmed u.. pay less than SG , work harder than SG , leave lesser than SG .. whole meeting and work in chinese .. oh ya I also interviewed together with other FT candidates want to bring family to TW LOL..

I did consider working in TW however I scared to die in a place not my motherland. Package still save lesser than SG leh due to low pay

Terms and benefits aside, the person taking up this job offer should be quite daring type. Already not many of such ppl around + still need to look for one that fits the job requirements. So not so easy to hire successfully too

Sinkie kia are too comfortable in Singapore and even if the stint can really open up their careers, most will think short to medium term only and most come to the conclusion the long term payoff isn't worth it.

Add to that most in SG with the right Engineering background aren't proficient in Mandarin at the level required to operate in TW. So many people that did Higher Chinese can't even conduct a basic business meeting in Mandarin.

So it's a case of the reward not being sufficient for them to be willing to stay out of their comfort zone in an active discomfort zone.

Language barrier is an immense challenge. Imagine reading office documents in Chinese. Omg I will resign on the spot

I have 15 years semicon experience. Once I also joking then test water apply to be engineer there, really low pay even with relocation packages.
Only director and above got swee packages. VP level got god-like package.

I had a hard time getting people to work in the semiconductor Industry

good benefits etc and overseas exposure and yet don’t get enough fresh nor qualified experienced engineers/researchers coming forward

And then we have the fresh grads with no family burdens also refuse to get out of SG to venture for a good career ahead

So it’s not really no jobs it’s more like people have many conditions they set for themselves, how to make money or get a good career if not ready for change?

best 20 yrs of my life as EECS grad. Took VLSI and get to hang with Jensen, get to travel the world for work...best gig ever. lifetime frequent flier/hotel...what is there not to like?

maybe me old unker...now this gen need WFH.

anyways semicon is no work life balance lah...must be able to accept it..put in some dues..then go do something else after.
