Are there any specific reason why I am posted to police instead of army?

My enlist date is 6th may 2014

My PES is B1L1 though...

i failed my cmpb test?

i always wanted to join the army and looks like it's kinda impossible now... is there a link to my family as most of my cousins entered police too?

any advice abt what to do during police ns?

We will probably never know how the select and we will probably never know how we do for the test.

If you are so interested in joining the army, go sign on if not that's just pure fantasy.

There are people whose family are mostly in SAF but they themselves go SPF, so that's not a conclusive reason

Many of my friends ask me go find MP... does it even work? and i think is pretty useless right? sign on is the only viable choice? im more interested in army though.

who knows, but I doubt. You are probably right. If you got such great desire to be in the army then what's the harm of signing on? If you do not want to sign on it just mean ur desire is bull.

depends on what you mean by "tied down" and "get exploited"

I think your tied down refer to the contract bond?
Choose ur career carefully. I have heard of people like army so much and sign on in the end after 1 year they regretted? Then u can either choose to break bond and compensate according to contract after 2 year (ns) or u choose that as career.

Even after 5years u decided to work somewhere else, you lose out to people in experience. Yes short term $ for that 5 years is good, long term might not so.

Maybe I am biased. Before I get in ns SPF, I want to join spf so much. Trained physically so hard, after get in I felt differently. Luckily I didn't sign on and it's not too late even if I make the decision to sign on after ns.

For your case different org, I think what is important think carefully. Cause u have not get the feel of ns yet. =D

do you want to be in the military as a career? Meaning after your 2 years NS, do you fancy working as a soldier for more than your 2 years obligation?

i think u better just go SPF for 2 years and leave. Don't think too much

You should research your career further before coming here and get answer or approach mindef they can clear your doubt.

All employment contract definitely protect employer and usually terms and conditions will be on their side.

I think promotion and uni are case by case basis. They cannot guarantee you can get promoted likewise in company, it is subject to performance and qualification and your direct boss/colleague appraisal.

if many of ur family members got into SPF, i think there is smth wrong with ur background checks that u cant enter SAF

and of cos if u sign on those background checks may bar u from certain vocations as well (they may not tell u in the face tho)
