Enlisting next year, smart watch

i currently was planning to buy a huawei GT 2 (smart watch) and im enlisting next year was wondering if i can bring them in. is it okay or nah.

I mean this is kinda of a rhetorical question isnt it ? This is NS, not a holiday camp leh. You try bring, see whether you watch missing or broken within the first week


Just go the any watch shop and say the NS watch. Only $10 and more durable

Hello, my son brought a fitness watch to his BMT this January. He was told by his sergeant to replace it with a cheap Casio watch, which I had bought for him earlier.

His Sergeant explained that as soldiers could get quite tired/defocused during BMT, it's better for them not to bring in anything expensive as they might lose or damage it.

Your sergeant will most probably tell you the same thing. So it might be better for you to bring in a cheap Casio watch, or have one ready in case you are told to replace your smart watch with a cheap Casio watch.

You would probably have no problem using your smart watch after BMT though, especially after you have posted to units.

I got the cheap Casio watch from Qoo10 for less than $20. You might find an even cheaper one from Mustafa or HDB shops.

I would recommend you to use a normal digital watch instead. You might damage the smartwatch during training or in outfield. Also, your commanders may not allow you to bring in due to security issues.

Would recommend you to get a cheap digital watch from Casio or Decathlon. Decathlon has a shock resist digital watch that is about $30.

dont bother with your smart watch.

i know it is tempting, but you are better off with a not oversized smart phone, along with a cheap $10-$20 watch.

a watch is important because you need to keep track of when to fall in etc.

but be prepared to get it dirty/damaged/covered in mud etc.

or just go ahead and get your smart watch, but use it on the weekends.
