Entering NIE with SIM GE degree?

My friend is interested in having teaching as a career

Will NIE accept applicants with SIM GE degree?

Would appreciate anyone with experience to chime in

Not sure about SIM GE, but I got a friend who is now a teacher, applied NIE with an overseas IT degree, not distance learning, is fly there to study one, MOE only considered her diploma cert and she came in with diploma scheme pay until she finish her BSc in education with NIE.

Unlikely. But I think it depends on the demand. What degree does he possess and what subject does he intend to teach? Just apply la. No harm in applying.

SIMGE got many distance learning degrees from many overseas universities, which one your friend is graduating with?

Chances to enter NIE grad dip is low for distance learning degrees.
I suggest you friend to strength her portfolio,
- go join MOE relief teaching whenever possible,

- network and obtain recommendation from the school your friend is relief teaching.
- get her professors/lecturers to write recommendation letters to support her NIE application.

If all else fails and your friend is still interested in teaching, your friend can attempt to try adult education, CET,
