eSIM - Airalo

Currently using Dual Sim on my iPhone.

Physical Sim = SINGTEL
eSIM = M1

Thinking of using this Airalo service and wondering if anyone here using it?

Is it simple to toggle off my M1 eSIM to Airalo eSIM?

I'm ok to disable my M1 since it's mainly use for data in SG since my main line is Singtel.

yes. just toggle between M1 and Airalo

I am using oya and yoodoo esim profile no issue switching

Comparing to this, I’m using Maxis prepaid (physical SIM) on my Note10+. The good thing about yours is that there’s no expiry, but DiGi network can be quite erratic sometimes.

Here’re Maxis passes options:

Daily Pass
1GB - RM3
2GB - RM5

Weekly Pass
300MB - RM5
1.5GB - RM10

Monthly Pass
500MB - RM20
2GB - RM30
5GB - RM35
8GB - RM45

There’s also a quota upgrade, 1GB for 3 days at RM10. I usually will take the 1.5GB weekly pass but sometimes also not enough haha... Maxis now also have eSIM but not sure if those are only for their postpaid plans.

Had bad experience on uMobile with bad connectivity.
Tried Digi and so far so good but not the best though.

So really keen to try this eSIM features and services.

What I did was to buy top up tickets when I’m in Malaysia and can top up while in SG to ‘activate’ it for purchasing data which can also be done before visiting Malaysia. Not sure if the other carriers other than Maxis, Celcom and DiGi have this top up ticket.

For my recent trip to KL, I have used OYA which is on Digi as well. It’s true that Digi network is not that great but usable and I had the 1GB free.

Not sure about Airalo but for OYA, I have remaining of 500MB which I can continue to use it when I go back to MY next time.

You can most definitely purchase before your eSIM. Just make sure you install it before you fly off (as you need internet connection to do so). Once you arrive at your destination, you can turn it on and it'll connect to the local network. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.

Which do you prefer for malaysia usage wise? Oya is $5 SGD for 1gb and yoodoo is 12rm / mth for 2gb? If need more can just top up another 2gb? Or how does it work?

Ah, yes one of our popular questions about China. Yes you can if you use the Chinacom eSIM vs the Unicom one.
