Hi guys I wanna check with u.

So normally for phones with esim feature we can put several esim profiles on the phone. Is the phone able to do a dual sim feature using 2 esim profiles, or it can only do 1 esim and 1 physical sim for the dual sim feature?

I think iphone 13 onwards can use 2 active esim.

Looks good. Certainly good for the options knowing that it is available.

I probably will still stick to physical sims unless the fees for changing physical sim to esim can go down.

I feel physical sim is always easier if phone suddenly spoilt or cannot on. U can take out sim card and put in another phone to use.

Yah but problem is pixel 6a has only 1 physical sim slot. I am using 2 sim cards. No choice, will just have to put one sim card on the phone and the other sim card on the other phone cos I dun want to pay the $37.xx for the esim conversion but also dun want to subscribe to another plan to enjoy the free esim conversion (cos the one I want to convert is the M1 Maxx which I only keep it at $0).

Yes, but it is just as easy to install the esim into another phone by scanning the esim profile QR code. Even if you don't keep a copy of it handy, it's usually easy to retrieve from the provider's website/app (eg M1 & Airalo apps stores a copy of the QR code). Conversely, if your phone is stolen, you could buy a new phone & get your mobile line up & running quickly, without having to visit your telco to get a new SIM card.

Can check with you, do we need data to add the esim after scanning qrcode? Or it will work directly after scanning?

From my experience, you need data or wifi to activate.

Switched to M1 esim when it was provided free recently.

This might be relevant to your question ( eSIM MEP ); sadly you can only get esim on M1 network

And M1 eSIM does not support 5G

Depends on the handset.

eSIM is a physical module in the device. If the device support dual active eSIM, it means that there are two such modules in the device.

M1 Maxx doesn't have eSIM option even if you want to pay

If you get M1 5G, you can access StarHub base station sites too. It might fix the issue about poorer network. However, can also cause the issue if your area is served by StarHub but StarHub network in your area cmi.

Not intending to use any 5G service in the short term. But between my friend and my personal experience with M1 4G network, their isssue is not the lack of signal coverage. It is, even if you have full coverage, the network will slow down for random reason. Of course, others might not face same issues. But I've been on 3 other MNVO since and found that Starhub is better for my usage.

Because people who value such convenience will most likely be switching phones regularly. As you said, you stick with the same handset for a 2 yr period, so it would not affect you. For me, a physical nano sim is still the quickest way to swap from 1 phone to another regardless of charges until they make esim transfers as easy.
