Last week after windows booted, popup a UAC prompt for fsavailux.exe. It scheduled a chkdsk on next restart, found a few bad sectors. There was issue with chrome browser, cannot load any website. Found that a few of the chrome files cannot copy during backup. Solved by uninstalled chrome, deleted the folders and reinstall chrome.

Run chkdsk /f /r a few times. Event viewer still show that my ssd has a few disk errors event id 7 everyday, The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block. Now has a few warnings, event id 153 The IO operation at logical block address xxxxx for Disk 0 (PDO name: \Device\000000xx) was retried.

The ssd tool report that the drive health is at max, although in SMART there is a few reallocated sector count, about 1100 uncorrectable error count.

My question is why still have errors after the ssd had reallocated the bad sector? Will a secure erase fix the problem?

Bad sector is not the only reason for SSD errors. Secure erase will not solve a hardware problem.

Suggest you clone to another SSD to check if the problem persist. As it is, can't really tell where is the hardware problem. Could be SSD, MB or cable.

Looking at samsung nvme ssd, but the controller of most models can reach more than 100C. My motherboard m.2 slot is on the behind side that is not possible to attach ssd heatsink and no ventilation.

1) Download Crystaldisk check the SSD/HDD health.
https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/2) Depending on brand, like Samsung have their own SSD toolbox.

I don't think it is due to heat, maybe due to age of the SSD as well as the wear level.
So use the tool above to check the wear level.
ITX motherboard usually the SSD is at the back of the mobo so not possible to add a heatsink.

Make sure the case airflow is good if not have to change to a MATX case for better airflow.

Uncorrectable errors are usually a cause for concern if it keeps increasing.

My current ssd with the errors is intel 2.5" 240gb sata drive. The post about samsung was reply that i am looking at samsung nvme as replacement.

The intel ssd is in the 8th year of use. Both the intel ssd tool and crystaldiskinfo reported the drive as healthy. Total nand write 341TB, media wear indicator 46, available reverse space is full.

It failed the intel tool full diagnostic scan read scan but completed data integrity.

There is no problem with the pc, no blue screen, everything working fine. Windows also reporting drive as healthy. Except a few disk errors in event viewer everyday.

As suspected is not due to heat but wear level, given what the toolbox reported the SSD have issues
so time to backup the data on it and replace it.
Depending on your PC specs especially motherboard either SATA or NVME SSD will do fine.

Strange, ssd passed the diagnostic scan now. Passed hdtune error scan too. No more bad blocks disk error event in event viewer. No increase in re allocated sector count or uncorrectable error count.

Did not do anything, no secure erase or write zero. Recovered by itself. Seem like the ssd knew got bad blocks but took very long time to replace with spare block.
