not sure how the rest of the world can tolerate such a display.

I have owned two OLED phones previously but none of them look as yellowish as the X.

coz they got no Apple's patented True Tone technology

that picture alone can't confirm TT is off. unless we can see the Display and Brightness settings.

Those who need to use Face ID in the dark, turn up screen brightness. My brightness is less than the half way mark. Abt 40% i think. Tried unlocking my phone at 6 am (curtains are closed) & it couldn’t read my face

There is a tendency in everyone to keep phone close to face when just woken up in dark. There is a minimum distance Face Id needs. I learnt this lesson today morning

And colour tint is not an issue.

AH! Now that you mentioned, yesterday i was fiddling around with the color tint after seeing some comments here.
I went back to OFF the color filter and its back to normal! Not exactly pure white but at least now i know why suddenly my screen became unbearably yellowish when initially I was OK with it.


Gonna cancel my genius appointment. All is well!

Just use Apple Pay at McDonald and it work flawlessly! Double tap side button, FaceID and tap on terminal. Done wait for my Ninja burger

To me no significant difference for Apple Pay since both are equally secure, fast and accurate, what is different is when phone is on the table and I just want to access to the homescreen.

When using 7+, touchID and unlock, but when X is on the table I need to go closer to the X, tap the display to wake it and have some distance between myself and the X before it unlock (too close it will fail to unlock). That the only inconvenient part.
