What I mean is just by clicking the edit button, not even clicking the magic wand or change any settings there.
By just clicking edit button, it’s just entering edit mode afaik.

This happens when your image is saved on icloud. When editing, it downloads the higher res image. check your icloud settings

I don't sync my photos on iCloud - the "preview" of the pictures have same effect on mine. Interesting Observation. Maybe it is to speed up scrolling through many photos... and when you when to see in detail, zooming in will load the full res one. Perhaps it has to do with Live photos, loop, bounce etc as well.

hi, would like to check around if anyone else is encountering this on IPhone X when accessing Instagram Stories.

When I tap on the left side of the screen to go back to an IG story that I just viewed, there is a grey border that appears within the area tapped (like a vertical stripe down). But when I tap on the right side of the screen, there is no grey border at the area tapped.

Was wondering if this is a screen hardware issue or iOS?

Is it only like a blink? Only show less than 1 second and then gone? Or it stays there?
Mine also has that slight blink on the left

It was indeed on, and I’ve turned it off now. I still notice a slightly different sharpness between the preview and the edit but not as noticeable as before. Not sure if it’s because of the photo object, but will monitor closely.
Thanks for the info

Update: I think it does not make any difference. The original photo that I noticed still looks much different between preview and edit mode. Tried to use airplane mode with no internet connection in case it does download fron icloud, but still it becomes sharper in edit mode. So it’s probably not icloud issue. Will try to play around with demo units on apple store to ease my mind :p

That is Instagram's design by default.

It is a grey gradient that glows when you when you swipe right as the next instastory comes into view there is this gradient to make it look like it fades into view while maintaining a box frame.

You can do it slowly right or left you will always see this left grey gradient on the left side of every video.

No defects here at all. It happens on Android as well.

It’s showing nothing and my battery magically drop to 1% overnight from 80%

I tried. Mine overnight from 80% to 70%. Not sure what’s the issue but usage and standby same timing. Something must be running but not telling me. Haha
For a new phone, that’s bad.

Mine didn’t really drop any % over night. You probably have some rouge apps.

Overnight it shouldn’t drop by > 10%, assuming you never wake up the phone and there is no Apps running, background refresh off. My iPhone 8 from 12am until 7am, battery can maintain at 100%, some days ard 98-99%.
