Yes. Always double click first to activate Apple Pay and scan your face before putting close to the terminal.

With Touch ID, you can just put near the terminal to activate Apple Pay with your thumb on the Touch ID.

Dunno why they can't make it simply automatically detect the terminal and activate Applepay.

Just find Apple either smart with their marketing or not telling the truth. The screen is not 5.8" or bigger than 5.5" Plus at all.

Take away the notch area and minus the thick black bars of non-optimized apps, you have a really small usable screen, sometimes even smaller than the 4.7" models. Even optimized apps sometimes have 2 slimmer black bars (to compromise for notch, and the bottom "home" bar for you to slide). One good example is Acrobat Reader (which is already updated for X). iPhone Plus models can go full screen. Galaxy phones can go full screen (even the tall S8 or Note8). X will have 2 slim black bezel like bars on the top and bottom. This is my greatest bummer about the phone.

Also the phone runs hot/warm - battery seems to be shorter than my 7 Plus (even compared when my 7 Plus was just out of the box).
totally agree with marketing gimmick.. smaller screen than iphone plus is a NO GO.. but for non-plus user, it is a BIG boast.

touch id is double tap home button
actually touch id more convenient, face id u need to “look” at the phone, which means move ur face closer to the card scanner

Demand is still high but Apple has managed to duped the market in believing that the stock is very limited.

They could have very well launch in Sep and that would be really limited.

If you have Touch ID, you don’t have to double tap. Just place it near the terminal (when the cashier has activated) and Apple Pay screen will appear.

ya, juz that u said as if the apple wallet cannot be manually call upon

But I usually don't use Apple Pay on my phones, only with my Apple Watch. It's a lot more convenient. :)

Impressed that ocbc app already updated to support face id. None of the other banks not even Spore Power apps support face id yet.

Yes, if you're looking at the phone when your device is ringing. The volume is lowered.

Those who want super large screens might consider note 8.

Again, to each his own. Sure i love the big screen on my 6S+ but its really quite bulky esp when im in jeans. Shoving it in & out the jeans pocket is a nightmare esp when seated. Office pants still not so bad.

So for me i dont mind a SLIGHTLY smaller screen.

So far only OCBC works with FaceID and fully optimised for the UI of the X, the rest of the banking all either got black top and bottom bar, still shows as TouchID under setting and some only have feature PIN login.

Also almost all the googles services app (gmail, inbox by gmail, docs, sheets, slides and analytics) are not optimised for the iPhone X.
